I smile not because I don’t know pain,

I smile because I bravely lived through them.

I smile not because I haven’t failed,

I smile because it revealed a new path not to thread.

I smile not because my heart is not broken,

I smile because it brought out the Sampson in me.

I smile not because I’m beautiful,

I smile because it will trigger another smile.

I smile not because I have been to London,

I smile because I will smile when I get there.

I smile not because I have met HIM,

I smile because I will be the reason why he smiles.

I smile because I can write,

and it gives me life.
